WHAT'S IT ALL MEAN?
My Privacy Policy describes the type of personal information I collect through my website marineanddeerfield.com, how I collect it and how that information is used and stored.
The type of personal info I collect:
I collect your first name and email (which has been voluntarily submitted by you) and IP address each time you:
Subscribe to my newsletter
Leave a comment on my site
Fill out the contact form on my website
Purchase a product from my website
Credit Card Info
All payments are processed through Paypal, Square or Squarespace, so I do not store (or have access to) any credit card info.
Where your data is stored:
Your data is stored in Chimpmail, the newsletter tool I use to submit my newsletter. It can also be stored at my studio and within my database. When you purchase a product, then your name and email are also stored on the squarespace database.
Security of data:
Keeping your data safe is important to me. My site is encrypted to enhance privacy and security.
Unfortunately, no data transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While I take measures to keep your data safe and secure, I cannot ensure the security of any personal data transmitted via the internet. When you transmit personal data to me via my website, you do so at your own risk.
You agree that I (Suzanne Warfield) am not responsible for any intercepted information shared through my site without my knowledge or permission. Additionally, you release me from any and all claims arising out of or related to the use of such intercepted information in any unauthorized manner.
What I do with your data:
The personal data I collect (which you have voluntarily submitted) such as name and email, is used to communicate with you (ie: sending newsletters). The other anonymous data I collect via Google Analytics is used to improve my site and services.
How long I keep your data:
Newsletter: I keep your name/email on file until you opt out by unsubscribing (you can unsubscribe anytime by clicking on the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of my newsletter).
*Once you unsubscribe from a mailing list, you will no longer get email from me, and your name/email/IP address will be deleted.
Leaving a comment: If you leave a comment on my site, your email and IP address are only visible to me but your name/email/IP address is retained indefinitely, unless you contact me directly and ask to have it removed.
Filling out my contact form: If you contact me via my contact page, your email/name/IP is retained for up to 3 months, after which I clear out all old messages.
How to Opt Out:
If you no longer wish you receive emails from me, you can unsubscribe anytime by clicking on the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of the newsletter. Or, you can contact me directly at studio@marineanddeerfield.com to have your name/email removed.
Third parties
Your personal data is never sold, leased, or shared with any third parties, with the exception of third parties who assist me in operating my website and conducting business. These third parties include Mailchimp, Bluehost, Square and Squarespace. These trusted third parties agree to keep this information secure and confidential. Your personal information will never be shared with unrelated third parties.
Cookies
Cookies are small files that are placed on your computer by websites you visit. These files hold data such as the name of the site being viewed, pages visited and products or other content viewed. They are used to make websites work more efficiently for the user (for example they may prepare customized Web pages or save site login information for you) and to provide helpful info to the website owner about the behavior of site visitors (like what pages are most popular, how visitors find your site, etc)

My website (marineanddeerfield.com) installs cookies and there are third parties (such as Youtube and Google Analytics) which also install cookies on your computer.

These cookies collect information about how you use my site (in an anonymous form) so I can see what pages are most popular, how visitors find my site and how long they spend on each page, etc. I use this info to improve my site and create content that will be of interest to my readers.

Youtube/Vimeo
When I embed my Youtube/Vimeo videos on my site, they automatically install cookies on visitors computers, which track your viewing behavior. They can use the information collected to target ads to your specific interests.
